In My Mailbox (37)

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren, in which book bloggers post about the books they've bought, borrowed or received in the past week.

This week, like many other readers, I bought Veronica Roth's Insurgent, the sequel to Divergent. While I really wanted to read this book, I didn't actually want to spend any money. I seriously underestimated the popularity of this book and saw that there were already 30 holds on it at my library, and I couldn't find it at Walmart or Costco. Finally I gave in and bought it at Chapters. Hardcovers are just so expensive, but hopefully this book will be worth the $20. I'll probably be reading Insurgent tomorrow.

From the library, I took out Where It Began by Ann Redisch Stampler. I've had this on hold for a while, and since then I've completely forgotten what it's about. From the cover, I kind of thought it was going to be like The Summer I Turned Pretty, but after reading the synopsis I think this book is a lot darker than that. Definitely looks interesting!
